The view menu of Hemisfer shows the following elements, which have the same effect as some of the buttons of the button bar:
![]() |
Colours: view the picture with all its colours. |
![]() |
Grey: view the picture in grey tones. Only the colour channels selected in the colour options are used to produce the brightness of the grey tones. |
![]() |
Black and white: view the picture in black and white. Each pixel is classified to either black or white according to the threshold. If necessary, this threshold is first automatically calculated. Note that the picture displayed does not show the true ratio of black and white if the zoom factor is less than 1. With a zoom of 1/2, for example, 4 pixels give a single one. Single white pixels in black surroundings are then in most cases outnumbered by 3 black pixels and tend to disappear completely. The same is true for single black pixels within white surroundings, but this happens less often on hemispherical photographs. |
![]() |
Rings and sectors: view the analysis rings and sectors on the picture. |
![]() |
Sun tracks: view the sun tracks on the picture. This will display one track (one day) per month as well as the position of the sun for each full hour in form of an 8-shaped analemma (or a straight line in case the true solar time has been chosen in the light regime options). A correct display of the sun tracks obviously requires that the coordinates of the site are entered. |

First file: load the first file if several were chosen together for loading (either pictures or parameter files). |
![]() |
Previous file: load the previous file if several were chosen together for loading (either pictures or parameter files). |
![]() |
Next file: load the next file if several were chosen together for loading (either pictures or parameter files). |
![]() |
Last file: load the last file if several were chosen together for loading (either pictures or parameter files). |
![]() |
Zoom -: zoom out the picture (minimum 1/8 x). The initial zoom factor is set according to the size of the picture relatively to the display area of Hemisfer's main window. |
![]() |
Zoom +: zoom in the picture (maximum 8 x). The initial zoom factor is set according to the size of the picture relatively to the display area of Hemisfer's main window. |
![]() |
Keep zoom and position: Switching between pictures normally resets the zoom so that the entire image is visible. With this option set, however, the zoom factor and the position of the displayed area are kept. This is especially useful for examining some details e. g. within a series of exposure bracketing. |
![]() |
Colour frequencies: display the frequencies of brightnesses in the three colour channels (red, green and blue), as well as in their twofold combinations (cyan, yellow and magenta) and in total (white). |
