Hemisfer is a multilingual software. The text of the entire
user-interface is stored in external plain-text files. As standard, these
files are named according to the ISO abbreviation of the languages, with
a '.lng' extension (e.g. 'en.lng' for English).
It is possible to choose another language at any time without having to
reinstall or even leave the programme: click on Language in the
Options menu. A list of the available language
files will open. Just choose one! Note that this will change the language
of the help only if a corresponding help file is available.
And if (by curiosity of by lack of chance) you happen to choose a language
which you don't understand, remember that Language is in third
position from the bottom of the third menu :-)
If your language uses a character set different from the Latin characters, then it may be necessary to choose another Font, also via the Options menu. Because there is not much spare room in Hemisfer's dialogues, choose rather small fonts.
It is also possible to write a new language file, taking those provided as examples. It would be nice to share it if you write such a file: please contact the author. If you write a new language file and use the software only for non-commercial purposes, you can get a free registration.
If you start editing a language file, note that apostrophes (') mark the start of a comment. The extensions of the input and output files are actually also stored in the language file and advanced users may change this if desired (see numbers 101 and following).
