Once a picture has been loaded from a picture file or
scanned into Pixstat, it is possible to run its
analysis by clicking the corresponding
button
or by selecting
Analyse picture(s) in
the File menu. If the threshold
is set to automatic and it hasn't been calculated before, then this is done at
the beginning of the analysis. Note that objets smaller than the minimum area set
in the main window will not be considered in the
calculations. This is to prevent specks from being counted together with the true
objects. If lengths and widths are to be calculated, then this is done according
to the object shapes defined also in the
main window. The results of
the analysis are displayed and (if one has been chosen) written to the current
results file.
If several pictures are loaded, then the analysis is done as a
batch. In this case, it is obviously recommended to choose
first a results file for recording the obtained
results. A running analysis can always be stopped by clicking on the
stop button.
